About Dental Implants

Dental implants are a long-lasting and effective solution for replacing a missing tooth or teeth for a dazzling smile. MINT dentistry is excited to offer custom-made dental implants and restorations for our patients in Conroe, TX to help them achieve a radiant smile that looks and feels just like natural teeth. An implant is a post that's surgically placed in your gums and jawbone (by one of our board-certified oral surgeons) to replace the lost root of your tooth. The implanted post or posts will be connected to a crown, bridge, or denture for a restoration that is natural looking and lasts a long time. To replace a missing tooth or teeth, contact MINT dentistry in Conroe, TX. During this appointment at our state-of-the-art dental facility, you will learn about MINT dentistry’s mission to help our patients achieve their goals while maintaining ideal oral health.

All-On-4® Dental Implants

Nobel Biocare® manufactures All-on-4® dental implants, which provide a comprehensive way to secure dentures for a full-arch restoration. All-on-4® implant dentures work by inserting the screws (dental implants) at strategic points on each arch. When compared to other brands of implanted dentures, All-on-4® creates a more secure fit with fewer posts. Our team of dentists recommends All-on-4® implants for patients who are looking for a beautifully restored smile without the hassle or the dietary restrictions that come with removable dentures. A lot of MINT patients love the benefits of the groundbreaking All-on-4® process, enjoying high-quality results. If you want to get more information on All-on-4® implants and custom dentures, we encourage you to schedule an appointment.

Best Candidates for Dental Implants

The dental professionals at MINT dentistry frequently recommend a crown, bridge, or denture supported by implants to replace a missing tooth or teeth. You may be an ideal candidate for a dental implant or All-on-4® implants if you currently have a traditional dental restoration but are unhappy with the way it looks or feels. During your implant consultation, our skilled team will examine your gums and jawbone to determine if a dental implant will help you achieve your goal smile. You are probably not a candidate for implant dentistry if you suffer from gum disease, use tobacco products, or may become pregnant during the implant process.

What to Expect

During your consultation, we will decide if you require gum or bone grafts. If you do, those will be completed before your implant surgery is scheduled. Once your mouth is approved for implants, our team will schedule your oral surgery to place the implant post(s). Prior to your appointment, a member of our team will help you to fully relax in one of our massaging treatment chairs where we will give you a pair of MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones. Once you are settled in, your doctor will administer your anesthesia, and if needed, sedation. Then, one of our board-certified oral surgeons will make an incision(s) in your gums and fit the metal post(s) into your jawbone. This process will be repeated if more than one implant is needed. Finally, your doctor will close your gums, leaving the top of the implant visible over the top of your gumline. Over the next few months, your implant(s) will start to integrate with the gums and jawbone. During this time, a temporary restoration will be used to cover the implant(s). When your mouth has healed, our team will attach your custom crown, bridge, or denture to the implant(s) so you can begin to enjoy your newly restored smile.

Treatment Aftercare

Following surgery, you will likely have some inflammation in your mouth and face, as well as possible bruising, bleeding, and discomfort. These symptoms are normally mild to moderate and temporary, but please contact us if your symptoms last too long or seem abnormal. Our team may write you a prescription for antibiotics and/or pain medication plus detailed instructions, including dietary recommendations, to help you recover smoothly. Once your implant(s) has healed and your restoration has been attached, you need to follow a good dental care routine at home, which includes daily brushing and flossing. You may be asked to schedule follow-up appointments that will allow us a chance to check and adjust your restoration. MINT dentistry highly recommends you continue attending dental examinations and cleanings so that we can help you keep your restorations gorgeous for a lifetime.

The MINT Commitment

Depending on your dental insurance and specific coverage, some of the cost of your dental implant and custom restoration may be paid. We will contact your insurance provider to clarify your specific coverage and calculate your out-of-pocket expenses. During your consultation with your MINT dentistry team, we can discuss payment methods we accept and we can give you information on low-interest financing. At MINT dentistry, we are committed to helping our patients get a luminous smile. If you do not have insurance, ask a team member for more information on the MINT Discount Plan, which makes it easier to afford regular dental care and restorative treatments.
